Houston gets braden east in portal
Houston added more frontcourt help this week by landing Lamar transfer Braden East, a strong interior piece who gives Kelvin Sampson another tough, physical option near the rim. East comes in after a breakout sophomore season at Lamar where he averaged 12.8 points and 9.1 rebounds per game, making him one of the more productive rebounders available in the portal.
The move makes a lot of sense for the Cougars. East is a 6 foot 9 forward from the Houston area, so this is also a bit of a homecoming for him as he joins one of the top programs in the country. With Houston looking to reload its frontcourt for next season, East gives the Cougars more size, rebounding, and depth as they keep rebuilding a roster that has already added several key transfer pieces this offseason.
